French knot is a great beginners' stitch and adds texture to your embroidery project.

How to do a French knot:

Pull the needle up through from the back of the fabric.

Point the needle away from the fabric and wrap the thread around it twice.

Keeping tension on the thread, put the needle back through to the back of the fabric and pull the thread, making sure that you keep the tension tight.

And there you have a French knot.
