Overstitch is such a useful stitch to know especially when attaching fabric on top of another piece of fabric. It can also be used to stop edges from fraying.
  • Come up from the back of the fabric and down again so that you create a diagonal stitch.
  • Do this all the way along the border.
  • Overstitch can be used to attach things in place but it can also be used to stop edges from fraying.
  • I’ve made the stitches quite large on here so that you can see it but you can make smaller stitches that are barely visible.
