What do our students think of our courses? They absolutely love them! And you will too.

Aimed at absolute beginners, our courses offer a more playful approach to painting and sketching, journalling, papercrafts and hand sewing and are a hit with our students. The only criticism we get is that they want the courses to be longer!

In their own words, this is why:

I am the least artistic person you could meet and I’ve really enjoyed it. Thank you. This has been a real breath of fresh air for me. Fun.

Paul Jeeves (Paint and Sketch for Absolute Beginners)

This is the first time I have done a craft workshop via Zoom and I found it very inspiring. The tutors were both very clear and made the whole experience enjoyable. Looking forward to more such days in the future.

Lovely ideas and easy to follow.

Everyone involved in delivering & organising the workshop were friendly & helpful.

Sometimes I cannot get to workshops because of distance etc., and by doing this sort of workshop via Zoom was impressive. It has inspired me to do more crafts again, so a big thank you.

Diane and Liz are an excellent double act and understand exactly how to pitch their course so that beginners can really learn something in a thoroughly enjoyable and rewarding way. They are both very responsive to questions and great at giving a spot of guidance if you get stuck on something. They create a lovely welcoming atmosphere, and will teach you some proper techniques that you can really use, right away – so if you are a beginner too, don’t be scared, try it!

Paula Robinson (Patterns in Nature)

I really enjoyed the course as someone who was afraid of starting to paint. The free style and creative way the course was designed helped me feel I can create a piece.

Hamideh Izadyar (Paint and Sketch for Absolute Beginners)

The course is perfectly balanced and there is no pressure to be anything other than yourself.

Barry Andrews (Paint and Sketch for Absolute Beginners)

Being a total beginner having not really experienced art at school, I thought…it’s different…I might enjoy it…OMG I loved it! And am able to do far more than I thought I could. Keen to learn more!

Yasmin May (Paint and Sketch for Absolute Beginners)

The teachers were very competent. Even those that couldn’t draw came away with a composition we were proud of. LOVED IT!

Gillian Hendry (Paint and Sketch for Absolute Beginners)

Diane and Liz ran the course very well, with a good mixture of theory and practical demos and lots of time to try things for yourself. A well-structured friendly course, great for complete beginners like me. Fun!

Paula Robinson (Paint and Sketch for Absolute Beginners)

I have had a wonderful time learning about art and the techniques used and look forward to the next course.
