Make and Do Crafts is a local business based in Northamptonshire, UK, offering sewing, crafting and art classes for adults and children. Join us online or in person.
Sewing, papercrafts and journalling aren’t just sewing, papercrafts and journalling. They are calmers, me-time and connecting with what’s happening now, rather than worrying about the future or dwelling on the past.
I’m Diane and with my friend Liz we Make and Do Crafts and that’s what we decided to call this new venture.
I’ve a background in media and publishing and a passion for arts and crafts. I studied The Practice and Theory of Visual Arts at Chelsea College in London, graduating in 1998. I’ve always enjoyed doing my own personal projects and have worked with volunteers for years.
Liz has many years (over 30!) as a arts specialist teacher in schools. She brings an extensive background of teaching knowledge to the classes and has run private groups for many years.
A few years ago we started the Twinchie Club and successfully teach attendees how to sew and embroider onto twinchies (a simple 2 x 2-inch square of fabric). We find that twinchies are a great way to teach beginners and those wanting to develop their embroidery skills.
During 2020, as our lives changed, we took our classes online and have been teaching via Zoom ever since.
You can find out more about some of our classes on our courses page.
If you want to be kept in the loop, you can subscribe to our mailing list and you’ll receive your first challenge – a free video tutorial to make a paper rose.
